”Jeg laver workshops, kunstprojekter, designprojekter. And I also make and collect zines – a self-published work of texts and images.
Jeg prøver altid at lave mine projekter MED mennesker. Artist collaboration is amazing – det kan jeg rigtig godt lide. Jeg tegner også med mennesker. Alle der har lyst til at tegne. Vi tegner sammen på et rigtig stort stykke papir. One colour, one size of brush. Everyone gets the same brush. Og så tager det bare tid. Nogle gange rigtig lang tid. Vi går fra lillebitte tegninger to really big drawings. Det kan godt være interessant, at der er et formål. Men det er også virkelig nice når der ikke er. At det bare er: ‘Hvad laver du?’ ‘Hvad kan du godt lide at tegne?’
I’m doing these things because the world says that people need to have training before they can draw – or they must have these and these amount of education. Fuck that’s boring! We’re all good.
Instagram and all that shit is cool. But it is also really nice making things with your hands now and then. Tegne. Klippe-klistre. Bare snakke. I know it’s a small thing – but I just want to show you the alternative to the digital world and try to keep that alive. That’s my kind of activism.”

Abdul Dube er oprindeligt fra Sydafrika og nu bosat i Aarhus, hvor han som kunstner holder til på Sydhavnen. Han er en af Aarhus’ aktive Ziners og står også bag Draw More Club, som afholder tegnesessions i håb om at få folk til at tegne mere og sammen. Pt. har han dog travlt med mikro-galleriet Bakken A room for photography og Mødestedet Meeting Place på Institut for X
